"I’m still doing what I’m doing by the grace of God.”
Fostering isn’t easy. It’s beautiful and redemptive — but it’s also stretching, exhausting, and sometimes it just plain hurts.
One of the women said it best: “It doesn’t feel rewarding right now. And you can’t rely on it feeling rewarding to keep going. I rely on God — and God alone — to keep going.”
That’s the kind of faith that meets real life.
When the feelings fade.
When the days are heavy.
When love costs something.
It’s grace that keeps you showing up again.
Grace that fills the gaps when you feel empty.
Grace that reminds you that obedience is the reward — even when you can’t see the fruit yet.
If you’ve ever been in a season that didn’t feel rewarding, this conversation will remind you that you’re not alone… and that God’s grace really is enough.
Listen to the full story on this week’s Rooted & Rising episode — a raw, honest look at fostering, faith, and what it means to keep going when it’s hard.
